Agricultural Machinery Barn
Prism Agriculture Ltd (PA) has been successful in assisting a client’s Town Planning Consultant to gain Prior Approval for a new timber-framed agricultural machinery building to support a small commercial Orchard on a greenfield site in the borough of Waverley, Surrey.
PA was contacted by the client in May 2017 following a local recommendation to provide both agricultural consultancy and rural planning advice. A site visit was arranged to collect the necessary information to produce an Agricultural Justification Statement for the proposed erection of a 12.9m x 6.4m timber-framed and clad agricultural machinery building as part of a forthcoming Orchard planting (February 2018).
As the proposed agricultural machinery building would be located within 3km of an active aerodrome, a Prior Approval application was sought in the first instance, limiting the ridge height of the structure to 3 metres.
Prism Agriculture separately sought permission in writing, directly from the Aviation Director at the aerodrome, to confirm that, there would be no conflict between aviation activities and the proposed erection of an agricultural machinery building within 3km of the aerodrome perimeter boundary.
Upon receiving clearance from the aerodrome, a Full Planning Application was submitted by the clients Town Planner, Planit Consulting, Godalming to increase the ridge height of the structure above 3m.
