The project
A commercial orchard in Waverley required a timber-framed and clad machinery building as part of the proposed planting project.
The challenge
The proposal needed a clear explanation of its agricultural purpose. Its proximity to an active aerodrome also required consideration as the project developed.
Our approach
Following a site visit, Prism Ag prepared an agricultural justification statement for the client’s planning consultant. We also sought written input from the aerodrome concerning the relationship between the proposed building and aviation activities.
The outcome
The client’s planning consultant secured prior approval for the machinery building. Following aerodrome correspondence, a separate full planning application was submitted by the town planner for a greater ridge height. The published record distinguishes the approval achieved from the subsequent application.
